The Château-l'évêque case

Many people have followed the case of the 14 Labradors of Château-l’Évêque.The breeder in this instance left almost all of his 14 dogs die of hunger and thirst; they were found in a deplorable state of emaciation. A somewhat older female, who was expecting puppies, was found dead for several days in the kennel.
This case would have been tried before the Tribunal de Police de Périgueux if not for the SPA of Marsac and two other associations of animal defence, who have put themselves up as civil parties requesting requalification of the facts and criminal judgment. The case has been under appeal and will find its conclusion in Bordeaux.
The breeder has received 14 penalties for animal mistreatment, the plaintiffs received 300 Euros each in damages, the SPA Marsac 1000 Euros and reimbursement of all medical expenses and for guarding the animals, which adds up to 13 942 Euros.
Only 6 Labradors survived this terrible nightmare and after many sessions of treatment and socialisation, they can be seen and adopted at the SPA of Marsac; we hope they will find a family, that will give them all the love they never had...
