Judging by the large amount of cats and kittens we have welcomed into our refuge, the year 2012 was a disaster for our feline friends. Do you have one or more cats? Please have them neutered; they will have an even better life:
- No more excessive meowing when in season; the females will have less chance of mammary tumours when older.
- It decreases the risk that your cat will suffer from a sexually transmitted disease (cat AIDS ...).
- It decreases the risk that your cat will be wounded (especially during male fights when the females are in season) and it decreases the risk that they will contract feline leukaemia.
- Your cat will stay closer to home, therefore less risk of losing it or having it run over...
- There will be fewer orphaned and abandoned kittens.
Hence you will not be adding to the problem of too many unwanted cats and this will benefit everybody.
